Summary and
Impressions
of the Macrobiotic Community:
There was an active center until
1988. Macrobiotic potlucks
started in 1986 and continued for 10 years.
During this time there were paid
macro dinners, a newsletter, visiting counselors and teachers.
Anita Catron was a strong leader of the local macrobiotic
community, until recently.
Services are currently available from Sylvia Gray and Lois Sprunt,
but community cohesion is lacking. Macrobiotic
counseling and cooking services are still available in the area, however,
and there are sufficient resources to support a macrobiotic lifestyle.
