Summary and Impressions of the Macrobiotic Community: Portland is a one person macrobiotic service center in the form of Linda King, who began a macrobiotic education center in 1983.  She is wholly dedicated to macrobiotics, and devotes her life to serving the community, and sharing her knowledge with others. 
Paid or Potluck Dinners: There are monthly potluck dinners; paid macrobiotic dinners are also available upon request.  
Education Centers: Linda teaches at a local college.  
Seminars: Linda has been on TV to tell her cancer recovery story.  There have been naturopathic seminars and health shows in the area.  
Newsletter: None.

Area Description: Portland is the state's largest city and its major center of industry and trade.  It is on Oregon's northern border, near the junction of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. It is also an important West Coast port.  Its metropolitan area population is 1,515,500.
