of the Macrobiotic Community:
Wendy LeBlanc brought
macrobiotics to New Orleans after she graduated from the Kushi Institute in 1982.
Macrobiotics flourished for 10 years until Wendy moved to Boulder,
CO.
The strong macrobiotic community slowly dissipated afterwards. New Orleans' macrobiotic activity now centers around Phyllis Parun, an experienced
teacher and cook. The community activities continue at a relatively slow pace. |

No. Once a year Phyllis Parun and Claire Renov arrange a potluck
dinner.

Phyllis has been
teaching macrobiotics for ten years at the Catholic Church for people over
50--called People's Program--and offers a five lesson series of lectures
called How to Create Disease, at a local coffee house.

Teaches macrobiotics at a yoga center at every opportunity. Phyllis finds it more effective to teach one on one than in
groups.
