Lost In The Desert

On February 23, 2005 we set out for a day long hike of Ze'elim Ascent starting at the Dead Sea.  We have hiked in this area many times before, had a trail map with us, and did not take any precautions for being out after dark: flashlight, warm clothes, and sleeping bags.  We have never gotten lost following the trail signs, but this was to be a first.  At one point we reached the end of the trail on our way back, and got hopelessly lost.  At nightfall, we sought a place to sleep--from about 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, at first light.  For a detailed description of this adventure  click here

Mexican Border

On March 6, 2003, we parked our Motor Home and crossed into Mexico on the only hand pulled ferry between the United States and Mexico.  We intended to explore the border town, Diaz Ordaz, several kilometers away, and return that same day.  We could never have imagined the adventure that unfolded over the next two days, including sleeping overnight at a drug rehabilitation center in Reynosa.  Read all about the details of this amazing story.  Click Here
