Amico Bio

This restaurant really reminds me of italy, except that i can eat most of what was on offer on the menu! the atmosphere was convivial. it's on a quiet little street which is totally full of medieval charm (impressive for london i think). the staff are friendly and enthusiastic. their style might be a little slow but i found that very authentic. the food too is very authentic offering secondi and contorni as well as pasta and risotto. we had an excellent bottle of organic prosecco and the whole bill only came to £20 a head for 2 courses plus stuzzichini - i thought that was exceptionally reasonable myself. i would recommend this place to my italian friends (who are very picky about what they eat) without reserve! a gorgeous vegan/vegetarian slice of italy in the centre of the city. i've been twice and will definitely be going back!

Best vegan meal we have had in a long time. We couldn't believe how our taste buds came alive and all we kept saying was wow every time we tried anything. They have not overcomplicated anything and use good quality produce. The chef and waiters were really nice and so enthusiastic about their food and their farm back in Italy where they get a lot of their produce from. A lot of places overcomplicate food and have too much going on but this is pure simplicity at it's best. The test for us is whether we can reproduce this at home but we doubt we can. Can't wait to go back and treat those taste buds again

First Out Cafe Bar

Had lunch with a friend here today. They only had a few vegan options, but it was enough. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. This is a good place to escape to in the middle of the day, they do a nice selection of teas too..

Liked this place a lot. My boyfriend and I went here because it was one of the few places in the area open on sunday night. There were mostly women there, and it is a gay/lesbian establishment, but we felt totally comfortable and welcome eating there. Food was very good, good menu size. Very casual, deli/cafe feel, with a bar downstairs.

Food for Thought

Decent vegetarian cafe in Covent Garden which makes a nice place to rejuvenate yourself after or in between all that shopping. Food portions were OK, not particularly small or big. Prices were reasonable for central London. Some tables were too close and it might feel a little cramped. Will definitely go back when I visit London again.

This is a lovely little homely place to eat. I've been here a couple of times now and I've enjoyed myself each time. Food is delicious, served in cool clay pots, lovely staff and food is a decent price. It is very limited of seating space (benches) and is busy most of the time so you will end up seating with other people.

Gossip

I've walked past this place so many time without even a second thought until a friend suggested getting coffee and a sarnie from here. I mean, if the terror of being on Broadway Market and not going to Climpton and Sons for coffee isn't too much to handle this place is actually lovely. Great selection of sandwiches, teas (including flowering ones), coffee and other treats.

Like tea? You'll love Gossip. I'm not really a fan of your bog standard builder's tea, which, in my country, I recall referring to as 'Gumboot tea', but am a bona fide herbal tea freak. Nettle for detoxing, peppermint for relaxing, and white tea for its antioxidants; it is my personal belief that there is a tea for every ailment and I shamelessly consider it my personal mission to drink my way through them.

Green Note

The food at Green Note is organic and, although it's vegetarian, it is inventive enough for meat eaters to enjoy. Although this is slightly more expensive than food in the average bar, it is high quality and nicely presented, portions are often not very large so expect to order a few dishes (prices range from about £2-£5 for individual portions of tapas). The dishes are Mediterranean style, ranging from tapas to main courses, salads, and desserts. It is worth coming early to eat before watching the bands

Greens and Beans

A friendly atmosphere created by the staff make this one of the nicest veg places around. Great to sit in and eat, especially for the bangers and mash washed down with honey and milk. The buffet changes daily and caters for all veg and nutritional requirements. Food is always very tasty and well worth the price a large take away is £5.25. Highly recommended

Ha Ha Veggie Bar

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Camden. They do really tasty, cheap, fresh burgers. I love that everything they have is vegetarian, so you don't have to worry about what's been on the grill before.

The burgers taste a lot like stuffing but i like stuffing and it goes surprisingly well with peanut butter and banana. i like this place its cheap fun food on the go. i crave the stuff burgers as soon as i get out the tube! ;)whole earth drinks and soya shakes available too. the staff are always friendly but cleanliness is questionable although it could just be the Camden feel.

Hollyhock Cafe

Often eat here as the food is simple and good and they let you in with your dog. It is right on the river so perfect for a long dog walk and a lunch stop.

The description of Hollyhock Cafe is that it's vegan-friendly. I'm sorry but this is the least vegan-friendly veggie cafe I've ever been to. The total choice on offer for vegans was a baked potato with beans, and a strudel. This is a shame because the cafe is in a fantastic location. I'd love to go back - but not until they live up to the billing. The strudel? It wasn't bad - but hardly worth the trip on an empty stomach.

Itadaki Zen

Itadaki Zen serves clean wholesome food. Those used to food with lots of additives and flavouring may find the food quite bland but for those with a more discerning palate a wealth of flavours delights. Itadaki Zen serves this all up in a beautiful zen like environment, with gentleness. When one enters the restaurant we leave behind the hurry and flurry of the world outside for quieter more considered environment. This approach of simplicity, gentleness and care is reflected both in the service and the food. If you are looking for a refreshing change from the mainstream offerings of highly adulterated, faced paced foods Itadaki Zen is top of my list. If however you enjoy strong, intense flavours you might find this a little too subtle for your tastes

I've eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed the food. I'm no expert on Japanese cuisine but I've had tempura each time and it's never been soggy! The sasou tea is the best, I wish I could make it at home. The service is sometimes questionable but never that terrible. The thing that troubles me is the lack of soap in the toilets. One hopes that the kitchen hygiene facilities are better.

Jo's and Al's

There are savoury and sweet pastries, a good range of great looking cakes, some of which are vegan/ gluten free and chocolates which you can buy individually. There is also bread. I have had a savoury pastry and croissant which were quite decent. I also tried the cherry brownie but it wasn't quite for me. It might have been a little bit dry but also I may just not have been in the mood for cherries as I actually wanted a plain brownie. I had a hot chocolate which was fine. They have soy milk which you just can't take for granted in the UK!

Madder Rose

In the morning there are a few healthy choices for breakfast such as muesli and fruit and afterwards there are about three hot choices which change. I had wild rice with bean stew which was healthy and delicious tasting.

Manna Vegetarian

We got a very friendly welcome, and a not too attentive waitress.
The food was amazing, we chose Mexican style dishes, these tasted like food that i had only ever had before in LA, and were superb. Perfect strength Chili sauce also worth a mention. Def go again

As a visitor to London, i've only been to Manna once for dinner - but I was mightily impressed at that one visit! For starters, it's a lovely environment - beautiful decor, a cosy little space (even with a tiny conservatory!), and a small bar if you need somewhere to sit and wait for a table (like we did, but not for too long!). The staff when it's a bit busy can be a bit hard to get a hold of, but they are absolutely helpful, friendly and attentive when dealing with you.

Mildred's

First of all - the food here is excellent. It arrived quickly and the standard was impeccable. We both had an amazing mushroom pie with real chunky fries and pies. Desserts were equally impressive. The downside to Mildred's is that it's tiny and cramped and YOU CANNOT BOOK A TABLE. We went down at about half-seven on a Tuesday night and waited for about 45 minutes for a table for two. You must leave time to wait.

I absolutely love this place. When ever I go into town with a close friend or member of family I take them to Mildred's. It's a nice classy place and the food is fantastic, great selection for vegans. Bill does mount up but that's because I always end up having a 3 course meal as the foods so good  Soup of the day and the dumpling starters are amazing. For the main meal I always end up going for the Burger of the day as it never disappoints. So great to go somewhere that does tasty mouth watering VEGAN deserts. They also do a great selection of vegan drinks and is nice to go to a restaurant and have a glass of vegan wine. A few down sides would be some that it very busy in the evening and the tables are small and quite close together so you overhear other peoples conversations. Also some of the staff can be a bit moody.

Mrs Marengo's

Mildreds has great food, but the staff are always rude and dismissive. This sister cafe four doors down has much nicer staff and is cheaper too. Although it does some of the same main means as Mildreds, its forte is its plentiful and universally excellent desserts. The white chocolate and pistachio cheesecake I've had maybe six time and is probably the finest dessert ever created. If you're tired of the cheesecake (or if you want to give your arteries a varied challenge) then if the chocolate raspberry torte is available when you visit then do try that too with pouring cream (soya if you wanna keep it vegan). All things considered, easily the best cafe in London.

The great food of Mildred’s on the go or in a more relaxed casual atmosphere. good choices and discounted prices for taking away. a big thumbs up.

My Village

One of my favourite local cafes. Now that I've moved from Chalk farm I miss it terribly. Part cafe, part food shop. Super cute atmosphere with wooden tables, chairs, magazines, just very comfy and warm. Great music. The owner, a Kurdish/Korean man is super nice - always gives us hot chocolate or soup samples in little shot glasses. I love their soy hot chocolate and how they have no surcharge on soy milk.

I really enjoy my soups, especially on a downer of a day. I got a bowl of their soup of the day, which was a mushroom rice with bits of corn and red pepper and fresh herbs.  The mushrooms were nice and chunky and the soup base was thick and delish. A bit of brown pita on the side and a freshly squeezed oj and I was set for lunch.

Pogo Cafe

Wow! This place has changed a lot over the years. While I've read reviews in the past saying that the staff are rude, I went there again this week after 2 years and the staff are fantastic! You always get a smile when you order food and everybody seems so happy and like they're there because the enjoy it.

Pogo has changed staff - and very much for the better. New menus, new faces - a real focus on what veganism is and the work that still needs to be done to reduce animal suffering.

Provender Whole Foods

Service is friendly. Value is fine with a takeaway lunch at around six pounds. Hot foods available: rice, dhal, chick pea curry and a sort of veggie sausage casserole that has Mediterranean type vegetables in it. The hot food was kind of like a sort of home cooked food, pretty average as opposed to super special, but it was still pretty tasty.

Rootmaster

There are really no cons if you like vegan food and like the idea of eating in relax on a London bus bang in the middle of Soho. I would give it 5 stars if the menu was a bit more extensive, but as a whole this is a great joint. I questioned the cook extensively when I ate there the first couple of times, and he knows what he is doing so this is not a fake place for sure. I am not a vegan myself but I like vegan food and know about it.s.

Saf Restaurant and Bar-Kensington

We were shopping in Whole Foods and I was starving, so we decided to try out the recently opened Saf. Being vegan, it really appealed to me that I could eat everything on the menu. We both opted for wraps: mine, homous and bulgar wheat - very tasty, good herbs; his, Pad Thai (although nothing I would have recognised from the original Thai classic) it was really tasty and had a cook chilli kick! The fresh juice I ordered was warm, and so wasn't so much of a fan and very over-priced. My lunch companion had a vegan beer which he really rated.

Saf Restaurant and Bar-Curtain

I had high expectations for Saf (Shoreditch) and was not in the least disappointed. Delicious food, good service and a very pleasant atmosphere made this a great experience for me and my two non-veg friends. I will most definitely return to Saf and highly recommend it to anyone in London.

i loved this place and can't wait to go back when the next time i visit london. The food was simply amazing.

The Gallery Cafe

The Gallery Cafe is a unique Vegetarian and Vegan cafe situated near the Museum of Childhood and Museum gardens in Bethnal Green. The Cafe provides wonderful value for money food, the best coffee for miles around, an airy environment with windows looking out onto a beautiful English garden and a wonderful environment to meet and hang out with friends, or work (we have free WIFI) in a friendly community environment

I really loved the atmosphere here. Its really laid back and comfortable, with a nice crowd. Had a pot of tea, and then later on gave in to a pizza (forgot the name..but one with spicy vegan bacon?). It wasn't amazing, but given that it was vegan, i thought they'd done a pretty good job (hard for me to compare to other vegan pizzas since i don't usually eat that kind of stuff).

The Garden Cafe

Last visited on 17.02.10. A lovely vegetarian cafe with at least 3 vegan choices on a small but interesting menu.

We stumbled on this place by accident one lunchtime and had a delicious meal consisting of a hot dish accompanied by very fresh salad. Creative dishes, quiet atmosphere and good prices. Only negative was that staff were a bit off hand, but it didn't detract too much from the experience.

The Gate

The Gate is a smart place to eat. I was in London for a work meeting so ate here on my own. The place was busy, and quite noisy, but the service was attentive. The vegan choices were quite low in numbers for all three courses, although they were all very tasty. I'm also sure the two vegan options on the main courses were the same ones that had been on there (tangine, tortilla wraps) nearly two years ago when I was last in London and ate here. The vegan desserts were not very inspiring, but their ice cream was definitely home made and was very tasty. In summary, nice, quite expensive so good for a celebration, but could do better on the vegan front.

If I was a veggie I would love this place but as a vegan I can't see myself ever going back as they do not cater for me. It is probably a little churlish to give this review as it is a Vegetarian restaurant and not a Vegan one but I did call before and was told the dishes could be adapted but they can't be as they pretty much all contain cheese as the base ingredient.

The Hornbeams Cafe

This is a place with a great vibe which often has a special event going on in addition to their normal hours, such as raw food pot luck, world food day celebrations, films & talks etc. On saturdays there is also organic/local food stall outside. Although described as vegetarian it is 99% vegan, as the only non-vegan item they use (at the time of writing) is cows milk option for tea, coffee etc.

The Peking Palace

Never will you find another place that serves so many vegan dishes. They even have vegan fish and chips!! The quality of the food here is brilliant and with good portion sizes so you leave feeling satisfied. Occasionally they have home made vegan cake which is lovely. The staff are always helpful in tailoring dishes to each individual's dietary needs so you don't need to fret about asking. This is a place you must try-absolutely lovely

Love the food, this is where I get my fix of vegan Asian cuisine in London. Their menu is too good, and I'm bonded to it where I can't even be bothered to check out the buffet -- even when everyone in line is anxiously happy. Try the mixed hors d'oeuvres if you can't settle on something from the appetizers list -- compilation of the best. My personal favorite is the crispy seaweed, it's savory with a hint of crispy sweetness. King prawn in butter sauce is best thing here, comes out piping hot and still bubbling in its thick sauce! Singapore noodles, chicken fried rice, and house special noodles should be ordered too. Everything is filling. I always a couple items thinking that I have enough room for dessert, never the case. I disappoint myself! All of the desserts look really good and exotic, I'm definitely going to try out the banana fritter with ice cream, mango delight, and bati kulfi -- yes, all 3 in one sitting. Can't wait!

The Ragged Canteen

This daytime café, inside an art exhibition building, has been serving up wholesome vegetarian brunches and lunches since September 2008. Customers press a buzzer to enter what was once the basement of a late Victorian school; the heavy flagstones and pillars give it a crypt-like feel. But the service is cheery and uplifting, and the dishes freshly prepared with real care using high-quality ingredients.

Vantra

“Vantra is the best place to go in all of London for the best vegetarian, vegan, and RAW food. Be sure to ask for the secret raw food menu, it's really amazing! We basically live there when we visit London... Thanks Vantra!”

Vitao

Salad bar serving up fresh food will be a sure bet for the health conscious. There's a wide selection of food including both soup and salad varieties; more so on the latter. The taste is well suited to the palate, though nothing very remarkable. The price is okay for the amount you get. Nice atmosphere if you decide to eat-in, but be prepared to pay a little more for it.

This is a small, cute, hectic place that is good to grab a smoothie or meal, but dont expect amazing quality. It is very homemade tasting, meaning good, but not really worth paying much for because you can make it just as well.

Whole Meal Cafe

Fantastic. We went here on my Birthday (Valentines Day) this year as my daughter was dancing in London!! Hunted out a local (to Tooting) veggie restaurant on veggie heaven in order to meet up with finally members, who are not vegetarians. The food is amazing. Home cooked food and huge salads to die for!! This was lovely and not expensive at all (especially for London, on Valentines Day!!!) Would visit more regularly if we were closer and will definitely be visiting next time we're in London!!!

Good staff? Excellent, have NEVER found others as good.
Quality of food? Excellent, fantastic, very FRESH. Tastes to suit all
