They operate a 'bring your own' policy so make sure you take nice bottle of wine with you! We were greeted by the only waiter there (as I said it is a cosy place) who was very welcoming and attentive. The menu was clear, had quite a variety of dishes, including vegan options, and the food was wonderful and presented very well indeed. The price was excellent and we had a wonderful evening. In fact upon leaving the restaurant we encouraged two other groups of people who were debating whether to eat there or not to go and have a meal... which they did. |

Our family are now regulars at GoKula's acoustic music evenings, a very enjoyable place to meet up with friends and make new ones with it's chilled out atmosphere... and the music is excellent and varied to boot, with many artists playing great original material! |
The food is tasty, decent portions, very reasonably priced with a lot of choice, even for vegans (my husband and I are vegan). The hot wraps are my particular favourite along with the soya cappuchinos which are the best I've ever had. The owners Bhajahari, Ros and Mikey are very friendly and welcoming and there are interesting second hand books and CDs available to browse and buy. So happy this delightful cafe has opened near to us! |

Staff are very friendly. Place delivers buffet style, with healthy food that tastes quite good. There's a decent selection to choose from, including meal deals for those who desire variety. Portions are moderate. Price is well marked for what you get. Student discount of %15 available. Nothing remarkable about the atmosphere, though it's nice to sit and enjoy your meal if you're willing to spend the extra 50 pence or so for it. |

The food at Green Note is organic and, although it's vegetarian, it is inventive enough for meat eaters to enjoy. Although this is slightly more expensive than food in the average bar, it is high quality and nicely presented, portions are often not very large so expect to order a few dishes (prices range from about £2-£5 for individual portions of tapas). The dishes are Mediterranean style, ranging from tapas to main courses, salads, and desserts. It is worth coming early to eat before watching the bands |
There are savoury and sweet pastries, a good range of great looking cakes, some of which are vegan/ gluten free and chocolates which you can buy individually. There is also bread. I have had a savoury pastry and croissant which were quite decent. I also tried the cherry brownie but it wasn't quite for me. It might have been a little bit dry but also I may just not have been in the mood for cherries as I actually wanted a plain brownie. I had a hot chocolate which was fine. They have soy milk which you just can't take for granted in the UK! |
In the morning there are a few healthy choices for breakfast such as muesli and fruit and afterwards there are about three hot choices which change. I had wild rice with bean stew which was healthy and delicious tasting. |
We got a very friendly
welcome, and a not too attentive waitress. |

As a visitor to London, i've only been to Manna once for dinner - but I was mightily impressed at that one visit! For starters, it's a lovely environment - beautiful decor, a cosy little space (even with a tiny conservatory!), and a small bar if you need somewhere to sit and wait for a table (like we did, but not for too long!). The staff when it's a bit busy can be a bit hard to get a hold of, but they are absolutely helpful, friendly and attentive when dealing with you. |
First of all - the food here is excellent. It arrived quickly and the standard was impeccable. We both had an amazing mushroom pie with real chunky fries and pies. Desserts were equally impressive. The downside to Mildred's is that it's tiny and cramped and YOU CANNOT BOOK A TABLE. We went down at about half-seven on a Tuesday night and waited for about 45 minutes for a table for two. You must leave time to wait. |
I absolutely love this place. When ever I go into town with a close friend or member of family I take them to Mildred's. It's a nice classy place and the food is fantastic, great selection for vegans. Bill does mount up but that's because I always end up having a 3 course meal as the foods so good Soup of the day and the dumpling starters are amazing. For the main meal I always end up going for the Burger of the day as it never disappoints. So great to go somewhere that does tasty mouth watering VEGAN deserts. They also do a great selection of vegan drinks and is nice to go to a restaurant and have a glass of vegan wine. A few down sides would be some that it very busy in the evening and the tables are small and quite close together so you overhear other peoples conversations. Also some of the staff can be a bit moody. |
Mildreds has great food, but the staff are always rude and dismissive. This sister cafe four doors down has much nicer staff and is cheaper too. Although it does some of the same main means as Mildreds, its forte is its plentiful and universally excellent desserts. The white chocolate and pistachio cheesecake I've had maybe six time and is probably the finest dessert ever created. If you're tired of the cheesecake (or if you want to give your arteries a varied challenge) then if the chocolate raspberry torte is available when you visit then do try that too with pouring cream (soya if you wanna keep it vegan). All things considered, easily the best cafe in London. |
The great food of Mildred’s on the go or in a more relaxed casual atmosphere. good choices and discounted prices for taking away. a big thumbs up. |
I had high expectations for Saf (Shoreditch) and was not in the least disappointed. Delicious food, good service and a very pleasant atmosphere made this a great experience for me and my two non-veg friends. I will most definitely return to Saf and highly recommend it to anyone in London. |

i loved this place and can't wait to go back when the next time i visit london. The food was simply amazing. |

The Gallery Cafe is a unique Vegetarian and Vegan cafe situated near the Museum of Childhood and Museum gardens in Bethnal Green. The Cafe provides wonderful value for money food, the best coffee for miles around, an airy environment with windows looking out onto a beautiful English garden and a wonderful environment to meet and hang out with friends, or work (we have free WIFI) in a friendly community environment |
I really loved the atmosphere here. Its really laid back and comfortable, with a nice crowd. Had a pot of tea, and then later on gave in to a pizza (forgot the name..but one with spicy vegan bacon?). It wasn't amazing, but given that it was vegan, i thought they'd done a pretty good job (hard for me to compare to other vegan pizzas since i don't usually eat that kind of stuff). |
They have a great selection of vegan and vegetarian foods. It's inconvenient that it is take-away only, yet, if you ask for your container with no lid you will get twice as much food so it's worth the hassle. There is a park nearby to sit in to eat. It's a good deal for the price which was around 5 pounds. I would actually give the food quality 5 stars. The split pea dal with rice and greens is delicious. There is a great variety to choose from for both vegans and vegetarians; however, the vegan food is not marked. I'm allergic to egg and dairy so I hate to have to ask about every item. They do have yummy vegan and gluten-free desserts which are marked. Overall a great little vegetarian eatery on Portobello Road. |
This is a place with a great vibe which often has a special event going on in addition to their normal hours, such as raw food pot luck, world food day celebrations, films & talks etc. On saturdays there is also organic/local food stall outside. Although described as vegetarian it is 99% vegan, as the only non-vegan item they use (at the time of writing) is cows milk option for tea, coffee etc. |
We stopped in here for lunch one day on a whim. Good selection of vegan options. Excellent vegan cheesecake. It's nice to be able to choose to sample a bit of everything. Good flavors, some old standbys and some unique salads. The menu changes. Nicely decorated and friendly staff. |
The food quality and diversity is fabulous. My meat eating husband wanted to return there a second time. Love that you can just take a bite of two of an item. |
I visited Vanilla Black a few months ago and overall had a bad experience. The service was really good but when the food tastes so bad and then you're charged so much for it, it really leaves you with bad views. Whatever you order comes out as a boring white pile of tasteless mush. Both myself and my brother ordered different things and every dish was tasteless and boring. It is an expensive place so I would avoid until they reevaluate the dishes. |
I fail to understand good reviews for this place. I went there for my birthday and was incredibly disappointed. The portions were tiny and everything had a sickly sweet taste. The lacklustre mish-mash of cuisines were deeply uninspiring and a meal for two came to over £90. In London there are many veggie restaurants that can do so much more at half the price or even less than that. |
“Vantra is the best place to go in all of London for the best vegetarian, vegan, and RAW food. Be sure to ask for the secret raw food menu, it's really amazing! We basically live there when we visit London... Thanks Vantra!” |
Salad bar serving up fresh food will be a sure bet for the health conscious. There's a wide selection of food including both soup and salad varieties; more so on the latter. The taste is well suited to the palate, though nothing very remarkable. The price is okay for the amount you get. Nice atmosphere if you decide to eat-in, but be prepared to pay a little more for it. |
This is a small, cute, hectic place that is good to grab a smoothie or meal, but dont expect amazing quality. It is very homemade tasting, meaning good, but not really worth paying much for because you can make it just as well. |

I had a 12 hour layover in London, I was excited about finding a vegetarian restaurant near the British museum. I located World Food Cafe through Happy Cow and it was a bad experience. The server was unhelpful and unfriendly (later, much to my surprise, I learned she was the owner), I asked her for recommendations since it was my first time in this establishment, she was in no mood to suggest anything. I sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen, one of the prepares was constantly blowing her nose into a tissue then handling food with her unwashed hands, she definitely had a cold. I observed my server cut a pie, lick her fingers then cut more pie... and so on, she might as well been licking the entire dish. My food was brought to me and set down abeam the empty seat next to me, it didn't make sense but my server was oblivious to most things around her. The food did not taste good and I was never asked how I was doing, I actually was ignored the whole time... and I was the only customer in the restaurant! I signaled my server to pay by waving my credit card, she would not take it unless I stood directly in front of the cash register even though I was only sitting a few feet away. My bill was 9.90, she refused to take my credit card because the bill was less than 10. It was an all around bad experience and my excitement of being in London for the day quickly evaporated. |
Cool location overlooking Neal's Yard near Covent Garden. We had a beetroot salad and Egyptian falafel to share. It was tasty and well priced. The service wasn't particularily friendly but no complaints here. Would go back. |
Zilli Green offers quality vegetarian food in an atmosphere that, I agree with previous reviews, resembles more a café than a restaurant. We ate here on a Sunny but chilly October day – all of the front part of the restaurant was open so in fact we had to eat with our coats on. The service was ok, nothing extraordinary, but the food was well presented and tasty. The prices were reasonable and overall I would recommend this as a good veg option in the SoHo. |
Went here for dinner after exploring Soho. The good reviews convinced me to try. This place is amazing! We had the butternut squash soup, beetroot gnocchi stuffed with blue cheese, savoury crumble, and the dessert sampler. All very good. The flavors were well paired. Reasonably priced, good portion sizes, vegan options, friendly staff and quick service. Vegan desserts are not always well, good. Their desserts are spot on. |
